To honor Dads during the Month of June, I'm posting prayers especially for Dads! I pray it ministers to you in a special way! Thank you for all you do!
Read and Pray Through: Joshua 1:9
Dear Father in Heaven,
I thank You and Praise You for being my Father!
I thank You for the gift of fatherhood that You've given me...as being a dad is a privilege!
I pray that You lead me each day to be a better dad for my children.
I confess that it's very tough to be a dad sometimes and it's not like I was given a manual on how to be a "perfect dad"...but... I try and want to own this great responsibility.
I make mistakes...Many!
I feel ill equipped.
I feel clueless at times too.
I want so much more for my children than many of my friends and I had at times growing up. Not for the sake of pride, rather, so they know and see that they are loved by me unconditionally like You love me!
I want them to experience great memories and with this I fear sometimes I'm going to royally mess up there lives, but, I pray that You will help me not mess up as often as I think or know I do...and when I do...may I own it and do better each day!
Let me courageous none-the-less and try very very hard to be the best dad I can be knowing that I'm not alone in this quest. You are with me always and other dads can be with me in this journey as well as we lock arms together helping lift one another up and be better dads!
Help me to invest wisely in the life of my kids when they are kids and as they journey into adulthood too!
Being a dad isn't easy but it's a humbling responsibility and privilege.
I cannot be a good dad without...
Your strength...
Being courageous...
Owning it and leading the way...
I'm reminded from Your Word that I'm not called to be dismayed but to be strong and courageous and I ask for Your strength and courage each day so I can raise the kids You've blessed me with for Your kingdom and glory.
May I be someone through Your strength and Spirit that they will want to be like as I seek to live and leave a legacy of honor.
Please help me impact them in positive ways always.
Please help me to help them thrive and be who You want them to be!
Help me be courageous to love them unconditionally especially when they've messed up.
Help me to be strong and courageous to listen to them when they have questions...and seek to give them a wise answer.
Help me to be strong and courageous to be more present when they are present!
Help me be someone they trust and can turn too knowing I'm always there for them.
Help me to always be a man of integrity and growing in character and wisdom...Your wisdom.
Help me lead courageously.
Help me to be strong and courageous to work hard to provide for my family.
Help me to remember that You are always with me!
Help me to to have the courage to put You first as I seek to seek You each day so I can be a man, a dad worthy to be a bearer of Your name.
I ask and pray again for Your strength and courage to grow as dad and be the best dad I can be relying always on Your strength and courage always!
I simply cannot do this without You!
In Jesus name I praise You and thank You and I ask all these things in His name, amen.
In Christ Alone and for His Glory,
