Meeting each day with faith, worship, and prayer.

My Friend,

Life is hard sometimes and we're reminded in 2 Timothy 3:1-7 that difficult times will come.

We can be brought to places of deep grief, sorrow, and pain.

As we grow in Christ, we know we can trust Him as we go through each season.

We can choose to meet our highest and lowest points of life in worship unto The Lord and faith in Him.

He is The One Who sustains us and He is the healer of our hearts, minds, and souls.

Read, study, and take to heart 1 Peter 5:7 Psalm 34:1‭-‬4, Romans 8:18, Romans 5:3–4, James 1:12, John 16:33, Isaiah 43:2, Psalm 23:4.

Then may you consider turning to Him in faith, worship, and prayer no matter what you face each day because you know He is with you!

You're in my prayers.

Your brother and servant in Christ,

Randolph Koch

You Were Created And Set Free To Serve!

I recall hearing Pastor Greg Laurie say the following:
"God looks at us and says, “I know what you can be. You don’t know it yet, but I know. I know what I can make you into. You’ll be a mighty man of God. You’ll be a mighty woman of God.” -Greg Laurie

Friend, You are His workmanship and He has uniquely created you with a specific purpose, will, and plan for you in mind. Through His free gift of salvation you've been set free from the bondage of sin and have been given a new life in Christ.

He did this because He loves you with a perfect and eternal love!

Pause for a moment and let these truths sink in.

This speaks volumes to me because He not only saved us but thought exactly what He created us to do according to His purpose, will, and plan! We're unique in Him and made by and for Him! We are set apart by and for Him!

With this in mind, have you considered that you can and should freely serve Him and that you've been called to do so?

We don't serve to somehow "continue to earn our salvation" rather, we serve out of love for Him and thanksgiving for all He's done for us.

Please note that serving isn't just for "The professionals" as in the paid and volunteer pastors and staff...no..serving is for ALL of us!

So, what's holding you back from serving the Lord?

Let's pray for one another that we get off of our seats and really live to be His Hands and Feet for His kingdom and glory!

Please read and study Ephesians 2:10 (ESV),James 2:14-18 (ESV), and 1 Samuel 12:24 (ESV) for encouragement from God's Word and then walk in the work He's call you to do.

Recapturing The Awe and Wonder of Christmas!

Read: Luke 2:1-38, Matthew 18:2-4

Christmas...

It's supposed to be the most wonderful time of the year or so the songs say and for some it truly is while for others...it's a very hard time of year for various reasons.

Christmas for children can often be sort of a "magical" time filled with fun, awe, wonder and excitement. If you're an adult reading this right now, you may remember those times of life and maybe you've lost that sense of childlike faith, awe and wonder?

The truth is that kids don't tend to over-complicate things like adults do sometimes.
They don't run everything through "adult filters" whereas we've let many things cloud our vision when it comes to celebrating things such as celebrating the birth of our Savior. Even knowing the truth regarding the true meaning of Christmas from God's Word, we can allow the things of life and even some of the trappings of the season to distract us and steal some of the joy we used to have.

2-4-6-8 Who Do We Appreciate!?

I remember the childhood appreciation shout that went...2-4-6-8 who do we appreciate!?

APPRECIATION. It seems to be a dying quality sometimes in an often negative world / environment.

The truth is that taking time to appreciate the people who God has placed in our lives is so important!

Whether it's a loved one, friend or coworker, we need to take time to simply appreciate...people.

A kind word of thanks or words of encouragement or affirmation can speak volumes to the receiver!

It doesn't Matter what personality type you think you are or whether you are a "people person" or not or even if you've never received appreciation or not, while these things may be tough and make it more challenging for us, you and I need to appreciate, value and even cherish the people around us... Especially true of the good people...because sometimes they can really be hard to to come by in this life...however you and I should be part of the "good people" category as we have the strength of, power of, wisdom of and relationship with The One who gave us life! Jesus Himself!

So, in turn...let us speak life giving words of appreciation and also do life giving actions of appreciation as well! You and I have the ability to do this...
So.... Let's regularly do this my friend!

Get R' Done! :)

In Christ,

rlk

Are You Listening to What God Says About You?

Read: Matthew 6:25-29, Psalm 139, Ephesians 2:8-10, Ephesians 1:13, 2 Corinthians 1:22, Romans 5:8-10

Have you found yourself struggling to forge a path or find yourself struggling with self worth issues?

Let me ask you - when was the last time you cracked open or dusted off your Bible, God's Word and read all He has to say about you and your relationship with Him? To read about His everlasting and unconditional love for you?

In the pages of scripture you will see more about who you are as well as see that God loves you, He sent His son to prove it and in turn Jesus sent His helper, The Holy Spirit to help you navigate life! You need to know who you are and be confident in you're worth. There's no need to continue to follow the crowd wandering through life trying to find out who you are.

For instance...

You're Not A Waste Of Time!

You may feel like God is too busy for you or that you've lived so a horrible life that He thinks you're a waste of time.

With The Lord, there's Never a lost cause or a waste of time.

He's not like the imperfect human beings you experience in your life who are conditional in their love and care for you!

He's full of grace, love and truth for you. He's, there for you and loves you unconditionally so why not abide in Him and seek Him with all that is within you (heart, mind, soul and strength) each day!?

What are you waiting for? He's constantly trying to draw you to Himself so why not listen to Him?

Blessings in Christ,

rlk

You Are Worthy!...

Let me tell you something that I suspect you haven't been told lately or maybe not at all.

So, maybe you don't know it or believe it right now but you're highly valuable, very capable, of great worth and an awesome person!

No matter who tries to hold you back from what you're supposed to be doing, no matter who tries to put you down, no matter your current circumstances, no matter the lies you start to believe about yourself, or others tell you about yourself (co-workers, friends, family, kids, neighbors, etc) or you tell yourself...you have to know your worth!

Don't believe the lies or settle for other people's limited opinion of you!

Know your worth for who you are and for all you are and all you are growing to become! This life is a journey and we're all a work in progress so remember these things in the good and bad times because you are worth it friend!

You are worth it and worthy!

Finding Your True Source of Joy

As people, we often search for joy in the wrong places.

We fill our lives with activities and people that we think will be our source of joy but...then they fail us and we are left where we were before hand - with an empty joy that's dependent on shifting things and people instead.

We also allow our circumstances as well as people try to steal our joy.

Also, let's be real, our adversary the devil loves to try to steal our joy buy we need to Armor Up daily - in other words allow God's full armor to deflect the arrow the evil one slings at us. (see Ephesians 6:10-18)

It's been well said, like in the brief video above, that... one of the secrets to experiencing joy it to keep seeking God where we doubt He is.

Stop Majoring In Things That Are Minor

So often we get caught up in or fixated on little issues.

We stress out, lose sleep over and occupy our thoughts with things that are sometimes, while they seem important at the time, they're truly not worth the efforts we seem to place on them because they are minor issues.

Like the old saying goes, "Don't make a mountain out of a mole hill."... Let's focus on the major things instead of worrying about the minor things and in all things, whether major or minor, let's submit them fully to the Lord as He never intended for us to worry about anything, rather, we're to cast all anxiety, worry etc upon Him because He cares about you / us. (see passages such as:
1 Peter 5:7 and Psalm 55:22)

We know that each day has enough trouble of its own so let's stop borrowing trouble where there often is none.  (see Matthew 6:25-34)

Let's start majoring in the majors but at the same time...leave the minors and majors in God's strong hands because we need His help in all things.

In Christ Alone,

rlk

Share this encouragement with someone today: "It's time to stop majoring in things that are minor." #ashepherdsheart www.ashepherdsheart.org

Our Words Matter

Whether young or old and no matter what culture you are a part of, God established a better way for us to communicate.

Simply put, our words matter...

They can build up or tear down...

They can bring life or death to the hearer...

With social media, texting, chat programs and the like, there are ample opportunities to speak... and what we say in person or via the before mentioned is communicated rapidly and sometimes we cannot recall what we just sent! The damage is done.

We need to be those who build up and bring life with our words.
