What We Believe

WHAT WE BELIEVE

The following is a high level summary of what we believe as outlined in God's Word.

We believe there is one God who eternally exists in three persons: the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit. We believe that Jesus Christ, the second person of the Holy Trinity, was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died a sacrificial death for the sins of the world, rose bodily from the dead, ascended into heaven, and is coming again to judge the living and the dead and to establish God’s kingdom of righteousness and peace on the earth.

We believe that salvation comes through Jesus alone. It is by His grace and work on the cross that we can go to heaven, not by or of our own works. (Read: John 3:16-18, Ephesians 2:8-9, Romans 10:8-11, 13, Romans 10:17, and John 3:1-8).

We believe the marks of a maturing church are faith, hope, and love. (Read: Colossians 1:3-7 and 1 Corinthians 13).

We believe the Bible to be the inspired and inerrant Word of God. We place high emphasis on the teaching of God’s Word, the Bible, so that our faith may grow. (Read: Romans 10:17 and 2 Timothy 3:16).

We believe the only true basis of Christian fellowship is God’s love. His love is greater than any differences we possess. Without it we have no right to claim that we are Christians. (Read: 1 Corinthians 13, John 13:35, 1 John 4:7-21).

We live in anticipation of the return of Jesus, for He is our blessed hope. (Read: Titus 2:13).

We desire the fullness of the Spirit in our lives, for the fruit of the Spirit is love. (Read: Galatians 5:16-26).

We believe that marriage is an institution established by God, which joins one man and one woman in a single and exclusive union. (Read: Genesis 2:24 and Hebrews 13:4).
