It's "Time To Make The Donuts."

Read: Genesis 2:15, James 2:14-18, Ephesians 2:10, Colossians 1:9-10, Matthew 5:16, 1 Timothy 6:17-18, Titus 2:6-8, Titus 3:14, and Galatians 6:9

From the very beginning, God created mankind with a specific purpose and work to do just like we see in Genesis 2:15.

He created us for relationship with Him, create us to serve Him and others, and gave us work to do.

If you're in Christ, you and I are called to exercise our faith through good works as our faith is supposed to be alive and not dead. It's not that works save us, because salvation is by grace through faith alone but it's clear God's Word says faith without works is dead. Again...we need to exercise our faith.

I want to encourage you to never lose sight of the fact that The One Who spoke light into the darkness, The One Who spoke everything into existence, says you are His workmanship! This blows my mind and I hope it does for you as well!

Furthermore, through Christ you were saved and created for work…a work that He prepared before you were born so that when you were born / born again…you would actively walk in them.

Let these truths sink into your heart and mind!

You are so important to Him that He prepared things just for you to do. So...discover and do those things!

We also need to remember that there are also common things we’re all to do, such as fulfilling the great commission, serving others as the hands and feet of Jesus…but there is something that He has for each of us to do that He’s chosen us to do. He will help us discover what that is over time and there's joy in the process of discovering what this is!

I may date myself here a little but, when I was a young kid, there used to be a donut company in my area named Winchell's Donuts. Their TV commercials chronicled the life of a dedicated donut maker and you'd see him wake very early and he'd say, "Time to make the donuts" each of the multiple times he'd go make the donuts. He may have been tired but he knew what he was to do which was to, "Make the donuts". It's kind of a catch phrase now for many who go to work or go work on a project and say, "time to make the donuts"....and with all this talk about donuts...I'm craving one but, I digress.

I wonder if like the fictitious donut maker, we are that focused and dedicated to serving the Lord and others and doing what we were created to do?

Doing what you were created for which includes serving others, is one of the major keys to living and walking a faithful walk in Christ!

When you do what you were created for, that’s when you really come alive because you’ll no longer operate in life without a purpose and plan...because you will have His purpose and plan. We all need to do our part in service to Him!

Please do not go through life in an aimless fashion ever because you who are in Christ have His Word right in front of you telling you that you were created for much more than mediocrity! Choose instead to live significantly! Seek daily to discover what He created you for and serve Him with a whole heart!

Ask yourself periodically: Do I want to have a faith that’s alive or dead?

It's "Time To Make The Donuts" my friend. It's time to do what you were created to do.

In Christ Alone,

Your Brother and Servant,

Randolph Koch
