Don't Chase Every Controversy.

My friend,

We live in a world that thrives on outrage. There’s always another controversy. Another argument. Another debate demanding your attention. But Scripture is clear: “Have nothing to do with foolish, ignorant controversies…they breed quarrels.” (2 Timothy 2:23) Not every issue deserves your energy. Not every argument deserves your voice. Not every headline deserves your heart and mind. Not everything is fruitful or good use of your time.

Paul told Titus to avoid foolish controversies because they are “unprofitable and worthless” (Titus 3:9). That’s strong language. Why? Because constant controversy doesn’t produce Christlikeness, it produces quarrels, division, and spiritual distraction. And James reminds us that “the anger of man does not produce the righteousness of God.” (James
1:20) Some seem to make it their apparent purpose to jump from one controversy to another instead of pursuing God’s Word, His will, and His purposes. As believers, we are called to something higher. We are called to: Be peacemakers. Speak with grace. Focus on what builds up, not what tears down. Advance the Gospel, not endless arguments. Yes, there are times to stand firm for truth. But there is a difference between contending for the faith and constantly chasing conflict or the next conspiracy theory waiting around the corner. Take time to read, study, and take to heart 2 Timothy 2:23-24, Titus 3:9, 1 Timothy 6:3-5, James 1:19-20, Proverbs 20:3, 1 Corinthians 10:23, 2 Timothy 2:16, Colossians 4:6, Matthew 5:9, Philippians 4:8, Galatians 5:22-23 for starters. Ask yourself: Is this drawing me closer to Christ? Is this producing the fruit of the Spirit? Is this pointing people to Christ? Or is this just noise? Let’s be known more for our love than our outrage. More for our peace than our posts. More for our Christlike character than our commentary. More for watching and waiting for Christ’s return and pointing people to Him rather than chasing the next conspiracy theory. Before you react, pause and pray. Not every controversy is yours to carry. But every person you engage with is created by God and needs you to help point them to Himself. You're in my prayers, Your brother and servant in Christ, Randolph Koch #GodsWord #scripture #ashepherdsheart #Christfollower #discipleship
