2023 February Through July Memory Verses!

Hello and thank you for visiting the A Shepherd's Heart Website!

How are you doing? I hope you are well!

I've been giving thought to the typical monthly memory verse(s) that I share and I thought it would be good to do something slightly different in 2023.

Instead of a different theme and verse or verses each month, I thought it would be good to focus the next six months on one theme which is sharing your faith via memorizing the verses around The Romans Road.

What's The Romans Road? Some of you may be familiar with it already but just in case you aren't, it's a simple tool that can help you explain The Gospel using verses from the book of Romans which is comprised of Six Pillars of Truth drawing from a group of six verses from The Book of Romans.

To get us started, here are the February to July memory verses: (We'll memorize something else August - December)

Please also see the following link for a pdf file with the above memory verse if you need a larger format:

I'll be following up in the days to come with additional information and at the end, I'll send you a one page Romans Road handout that you can fold and tuck away in your Bible as a ready resource when God gives you an opportunity to share faith.

As always, I recommend you memorize scripture using a good word for word translation such as the ESV or another translation.

Let me know how I can be praying for you.

December 2022 Memory Verses

Hello!
For our December scripture memorization, I've suggested Isaiah 9:6, Isaiah 7:14, and John 1:14, which are just a few of the many verses that point to Jesus birth and life, which is fitting this Christmastime.

As always, I've suggested the ESV version, which is the version I use most often, however, if you have another good word for word translation you enjoy, feel free of course to memorize it in that version.
_
You'll notice that following the verses are some basic themes/topics. I've included those suggestions as I learned many years ago that having at least one theme or topic in mind when you memorize scripture helps you store them in your memory and as you have conversations with others in the future, I can guarantee that as those themes/topics come up, the scripture you've memorized will also come to mind and you may share encouragement from God's Word or re-encourage yourself!
_
May you continue to abide in God's Word through reading, studying, memorization and living it out as vital keys to our growth.
_
Have fun with scripture Memorization! Don't stress about it! And, as always, be in The Word and stay in The Word!
_
You're in my prayers and please reach out if you need any tips.

Randolph Koch

November 2022 Memory Verses

My Friend,

For our November scripture memorization, I've suggested Psalm 9:1, 1 Thessalonians 5:18, Psalm 118:28-29, and Psalm 136:1-3, which are just a few of the many that remind us about thankfulness and gratitude to The King Of Kings and Lord of Lords.

As always, I've suggested the ESV version, which is the version I use most often, however, if you have another good word for word translation you enjoy, feel free to memorize it in that version. It's completely up to you.

You'll notice that following the verses is a list of some basic themes/topics. October 2022 Memory Verses

My Friend,

For our October scripture memorization, I've suggested Psalms 28:7, Psalm 46:10, Matthew 11:28-30, and Proverbs 3:5-6, as they remind us that our strength and sufficiency, and who we are is found in Him. So, we can cease striving, trust in Him, lean on Him and His understanding instead of ourselves alone.

As always, I've suggested the ESV version and this month, one from the NASB version (that's the version I originally memorized that verse in. :-) ), which is the version I use most often, however, if you have another good word for word translation you enjoy, feel free to memorize it in that version. It's completely up to you.

You'll notice that following the verses is a list of some basic themes/topics. I've included those suggestions as I learned many years ago that having at least one theme or topic in mind when you memorize scripture helps you store them in memory and as you have conversations with others in the future, I can guarantee that as those themes/topics come up, the scripture you've memorized will also come to mind and you may share encouragement from God's Word or re-encourage yourself!

September 2022 Memory Verses.

My Friend,

For our September scripture memorization, I've suggested John 14:6 and Acts 4:12 as they remind us that there is only One Way that we can be saved and that is through Jesus Christ's finished work on the cross. There are not many pathways to heaven, He is the only way!

As always, I've suggested the ESV version, which is the version I use most often, however, if you have another good word for word translation you enjoy, feel free to memorize it in that version. It's completely up to you.

You'll notice that following the verses is a list of some basic themes/topics.

June 2022 Memory Verse

My Friend,

For our June scripture memorization, I've suggested Matthew 18:15-20.

I've broken the passage into three suggested parts because it may be easier to memorize in smaller portions.

This passage is an important part of addressing sin biblically and conflict resolution as we seek to be biblical peacemakers.

Even if you don't memorize it, I highly recommend that you memorize the reference and then read and study it.

As always, I've suggested the ESV version, which is the version I use most often, however, if you have another good word for word translation you enjoy, feel free to memorize it in that version. It's completely up to you.

You'll notice that following the verses is a list of some basic themes/topics.

March 2022 Memory Verse.

Hello My Friend,

For our March scripture memorization, I've suggested one verse, which you will be familiar with, to remind us of the importance of scripture memorization as we seek to treasure and hide God's Word in our hearts.

Here is the memory verse: Psalm 119:9-11.
As always, I've suggested the ESV version which is the version I use most often, however, if you have another good word for word translation you enjoy, feel free to memorize it in that version. It's completely up to you.

You'll notice that following the verses is a list of some basic themes/topics.

February 2022 Memory Verses.

Hello My Friend,

For our February scripture memorization, I've suggested a few verses (of the many) for your memorization that are focused some more on love.

Here are the suggested memory verses for February: John 13:34-35, 1 John 4:19, 1 Corinthians 13:4-7, 1 Corinthians 13:8-13 (Or feel free research and pick your own.) :-)
As always, I've suggested the ESV version which is the version I use most often, however, if you have another good word for word translation you enjoy, feel free to memorize it in that version. It's completely up to you.

You'll notice that following the verses is a list of some basic themes/topics.

We're reminded of the importance of God's Word by a question from Psalm 119:9, "How can a young man keep his way pure? By guarding it according to your word" and then in Psalm 119:11 that, "I have stored up your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you."

So how do you "guard your ways according to God's Word" and how do you "store up His Word in your heart?" One way is summed up in these three words: Memorize God's Word! 🙂

Abiding in The Word through reading, studying, memorization and living it out are vital keys to our growth.

Have fun with it! Don't stress about it! And, as always, be in The Word and stay in The Word!
